Final Blog Word Count:478 Feminism to me is being a woman and doing what you want. In which you break barriers and do what you want without the idea and thoughts of another. This idea of feminism is shown in Audre Lorde's film in which she was named by the governor of New York the Walt Whitman Citation of Merit for poetry and was named the state poet from 1991 to 1993. she rose above everything as a black, gay, immigrant, woman. She showed that she was more and rose above it to win awards and be recognized. She was willing to break barriers and ideas of people including society to do what she wanted and to believe in herself. A woman who reminds me of this is Nina Berberova in the italics are mine. She was a woman who found her voice and freedom although it was different from the gender norm of the time.
