This quote demonstrates the purpose and why the author made this collection of works. In order to represent real, strong, and true women. The author was interested in showing off works of women who were much more than their portrait by marriage. She wanted "wild women" stories that were genuine and could have many other people connect to them in order to grow towards a movement of courageous women. Women who were normal with true raw stories could touch others in ways that made women feel powerful at a time in which they were shown as weak. The author is trying to use these stories in order to break free of all the images of perfect women in a positive way to help cultivate a new era.

The audience learns from this quote about the author and how she herself was looking for a life of more. How she wanted to be able to touch others and be one of those women. The author's quote from her mother also shows you how she grew up, and her fundaments. This demonstrates how she grew up influenced by her family to be courageous and question and to be a woman that deserves a biography. Although this demonstrates a bias that she might limit women that could be in royalty like Meghan Markle, who did many philanthropic efforts for many causes and truly made a difference. While the author might have some bias I believe she does an overall great job of being realistic, using women that will inspire others.
