    This quote gives a unique perspective on the author Simone de Beauvoir. This perspective allows the readers to understand that while we might now in this day an age see her as normal that in her era she was different. Different in a way in which the world had looked down upon her for her differences. Simone de Beauvoir was a woman who wanted to work, made budgets, and enjoyed her freedom. She was someone who wanted to be more, than just someone who could get married and have babies. 

    Simone de Beauvoir's idea even plays out through her relationships with her family and society. She was seen as inappropriate for her relations with Sartre, which for the time they were. Simone de Beauvoir's own family cast shame on her and Sartre as well as the world. Her family openly told Sartre to leave and her relationship with him would not allow her cousin to get married. This quote allows you to see society's pull on women at the time and how they were treated, as objects. They were people they were transactions. Simone de Beauvoir's story allows us to look into her life and her relationship to show women that everyone can have it all and that women can create and be anything they want to be in this world. The audience sees that going against the status quo can allow for beauty and freedom of choice. Choice in what women want, and that there are more women that should and can go against the norm.
